Deception
All soldiers are the same
Though they all have different names
They're told to fight
For what is right
By those who don't know
What it's like to leave home
Not certain if they will return
They're bribed and convinced
That they won't be missed
By families grieving their death
But in their final breath
They all learn the truth:
That all soldiers are the same
They're tricked day to day
To believe that war is safe.
The Remnants of a War
I went to fight
With all my might
Their poison gas
Let's no one last
While bombshells were raining
And soldiers parading
Bombs caused explosions
And moms with bad notions
Got word across oceans
To tell that their sons had died
And to make everyone cry
Because their son went to fight
With all of his might
And when he laid down
No friends were around
To tell him that they were proud.
